6 enlightening ways to reduce dark circles

We’ve heard it many times before and it’s true in any shape and form, our eyes are indeed the windows to our souls. However, the dark circles surrounding our view makes it rather less appealing. Plus, it gives the notion of having health issues, sleep deprivation and others.

Donning panda eyes, or some even call it raccoon eyes, can be frustrating as it ruins your whole look. No matter how much concealer you apply over it, some dark under eye bags just won’t give in. Sometimes, makeup, beauty hacks and tricks aren’t enough.

Keep your eating habit in check

Washing your face with warm water doesn’t help in reducing your eye puffiness. In fact, it only worsens the condition. Hot water makes dark circles more noticeable in a way.

So whenever you rinse your face, skip warming the water and wash your face with cold water. If you want, perform cool compress. Simply dampen a washcloth in cold water then apply thoroughly the cloth to your face specifically around your eyes for a few minutes.

Not strolling under the sun isn’t a viable excuse to skip applying sunscreen. May it rain or shine, applying SPF under your eyes is a great way to combat further darkening in the area. Get enough sleep

There’s a reason why people associates dark circles to lack of sleep — because it’s a fact. Sleep deprivation is one of the major reasons that largely contributes to your dark under eye bags and not to mention the fluid that builds up along.

Clearly, your lack of enough sleep shows. The best and easy way to fix that? Simple, GET. ENOUGH. SLEEP of at least 8 to 10 hours daily. Now, you’ll have a reason to tap that snooze button.

Get rid of the bags using tea bags

Don’t throw your freshly brewed and used tea bag just yet, there’s still use left of it that you’re going to love.

Cool the tea bag by putting it in the refrigerator for a good amount of time. Once cooled, lay them over your eyes and rest them for a good 10-15 minutes. The upsides of the tea bags? It reduces the swelling and discoloration all the while provides your eyes a soothing relief.

Tomatoes, potatoes and cucumbers are your corrector!

Now, these home remedies to get rid of dark circles are life savers so be sure to take note of them. All this ingredients has natural bleaching and skin lightening properties that are your weapons to fight dark pigments under your eyes.

Tomato:

Lemon juice is optional for this one but for best results, mix the two substances.

Mix one teaspoon of tomato juice with one-half teaspoon of lemon juice. Apply the combination to your under eyes and let it sit for 10-15 minutes. Afterwards, rinse it off with cool water. Repeat this twice daily and continue the process for a few weeks to see the results.

Raw Potato:

There are two ways you can go with this one. You can either use potato juice or thick potato slices:

Grate a potato and extract the juice. Use a cotton ball to dip in the juice and place it over your eyes. Leave it on for 10-15 minutes before your rinse it off. Make sure that your under eyes are fully covered and applied with the extract.

If you opt to use thick potato slices, simply lay the slices of potato over your eyes and leave it for 10-15 minutes.

Cucumber:

Surely you’ve heard about this one before. Simply cut two thick slices from a fresh cucumber. Chill the slices in the fridge for at least half an hour.

Then, lay the slices over your eyes covering your whole dark circles. Let it sit there for 10-15 minutes. Rinse with cool water afterwards. Repeat the treatment twice daily for a few weeks to see results.

Of course, you can still turn to concealers at the last minute but don’t put your 100% trust in it as mentioned previously, it doesn’t work every time.
