Do you love your body?

If you say you do, how do you show it? How do you take care of your body and treat it like a priceless treasure? Ok I’m not trying to be deep or anything like that.

I see people punishing their body by starving themselves in an effort to lose weight. Using beauty products with harmful chemicals to get a fairer skin is actually hurting your body and skin. Eating junk food that could lead to high cholesterol and obesity is not a way to take care of your body.

Yeah you could say you are enjoying yourself by taking ice cream and pizza every day but what about your immune system and possible weight gain.

In this blog post, I’m going to show you 7 simple ways to start taking care of your body from today

 

Take time for exercise

I know a lot of people don’t want to exercise but it is important for your physical and mental well being.

There are different ways to exercise so your mind shouldn’t always go to sit ups and pushups. There are fun exercises you can try like zumba. You can also look into doing some basic yoga.

Taking the time to exercise is what is important. You can start with 10 minutes every day and work your way up. But really 10 minutes exercise everyday can have a huge impact.

Just do what your body can manage.

 

Pay more attention to what you eat

It is very important to be mindful of what we put into our body.  Eating healthy is one of the best beauty secrets.

Eating healthy means feeding your body what it needs to function well. Take time to plan out your meals. Introduce new healthy meals to your taste buds.

Changing your diet doesn’t have to be drastic. You can start by swapping your daily coke or coffee for water or green tea. Take out one bad and replace it with a healthy alternative.

Eating healthy is a way to care for your body. Make healthy food your best friend not your enemy.

 

Embrace your body shape

You have to understand that everyone does not have the same body shape. Understanding this is very important. You can’t have a spoon shape and expect to look like kim kardashian or have an hour glass shape and expect to look like Zendaya when you lose weight.

Don’t set unrealistic expectations for your body. If you are skinny, embrace it and love your body that way. Dress to flatter your figure and flaunt your gorgeous body.

If you are curvy embrace your curves. Girls are dying to have those trust me! Personally, I think all bodies are beautiful and unique. Find what makes yours unique and dress to flatter your body size and shape.

 

Make sleep a priority

Your body needs a good sleep. Sometimes you need to get a lot done but if your body really needs that rest, take some time and sleep. Ideally our body needs 8 hours sleep time.

When you are well rested, your mind is open to do more and function optimally. A good sleep helps repair any damage done during the day.

Tip: make sure you avoid caffeine and alcohol before going to bed.

 

Stay away from negative people

Fact: women are up to 10 times more likely to have a negative body image than men.

If there is someone you know that constantly complains about your weight or how bad your skin is, it’s time to stop listening to those people. Who needs to listen to all of that? Let them know that you love your body no matter what and if they don’t see it, that’s fine.

Being healthy is what is important. If you have a healthy body, who cares what anyone else says? When you take care of your body physically and mentally, your body will automatically go to its unique and ideal size. Don’t let others stress you.

You are worth more than your appearance.

 

Stop setting unrealistic goals for your body

You have to be easy on yourself and your body. You can’t push yourself to lose 10kg in one week. That’s just a mean thing to do to your body.  It’s really scary to tell your esthetician that you want to have a really lighter skin in 3 days.

 

It scares me when I hear such goals. I’m like; you really don’t care about what these drastic results can do to your health in general?  We need to take it easy on ourselves.

When you set such goals, always ask yourself, ‘why is this so important? Why 10kg in 1 week? What am I trying to prove? Who am I trying to prove it to?’

Show some compassion to your body.

 

Be confident

When you are confident in your body as it is right now, when you are comfortable in your skin, you won’t set unrealistic goals for your body. You won’t listen to negative comments from people.  You won’t be in a hurry to try out crazy diets or buy the latest weight loss tea.

Don’t wait to lose weight or have an acne free skin before you start living the life you want. Live the life you want and stay healthy.
